Purdue Federal Credit Union
Q: What is it about the nature of the work you do in La Porte that you value most or find most rewarding?
A: As a nonprofit cooperative, our goal is to always work in our members' best interest. Our members are owners of the credit union- it not only allows us to offer free financial literacy sessions as well as competitive rates and lower fees than many other financial institutions, but also through our Mr Member Perks program, we are able to share a percentage of our annual profits with our members. In 2016, we gave back $6.7 million and since the program's inception in August 2013, we've delivered more than $13,000,000 back to members.
My Member Perks was created exclusively for Purdue Federal by its own leadership team, which tailored the distinctive program specifically for their members. The program continuously gives back to Purdue Federal members by rewarding them for their entire relationship with the credit union. My Member Perks is based on many factors including years of membership and usage of all products and services. It rewards members with perks designed for every stage of life including free checking and financial reviews for all members, rewards points on credit card purchases, monthly cash back for debit card transactions, rate bonuses on share certificates, and discounts on loans. Details about My Member Perks are available at PURDUEFED.COM/PERKS.
We invite the community to "belong where you have worth," which means that we value our members, whether they have $5 or $50,000 in their account. We appreciate each and every member. Anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in La Porte County is eligible for membership. Just stop by one of our local branches- at 3404 Monroe Street in La Porte, or in the Library-Student-Faculty Building at Purdue Northwest in Westville- and we would be happy to help you open your account.
